Secret of Mana -- Useful Lunar Magic

In the original game, Lunar Magic was notorious for being the most useless spell
in the game -- it was expensive (8 MP), and half the time, it harmed the user's
party or made the enemies stronger. So, I made Lunar Magic into something that
is actually useful and unique (hopefull). The new Lunar Magic hack does the
following:
- Causes All-Stats-Down and Status Effects.
Note that enemies cannot be Pygmyed.
- Changes the descriptions to match the new effects.
- Changes the behaviors of various enemies and bosses:
- Gremlin Freeze --> Lunar Magic
- Hexas Dispel Magic (one) --> Lunar Magic (all)
- Dark Lich Dispel Magic (one) --> Lunar Magic (all)
* Mimic Box and Marmablue are already capable of using Lunar Magic.
Applying Notes:
- For the normal ROM and VWF, use "Useful Lunar Magic 0.1.ips".
- Compatible with Relocalized (use "Useful Lunar Magic 0.1 Reloc.ips" instead),
but apply the patch AFTER applying Relocalized.
- Compatible with "Spell Balance Overhaul" patch. However, apply the patch
AFTER applying Spell Balance Overhaul. If you are going to apply both this
and Relocalized, then apply in the following order:
Relocalized --> Spell Balance Overhaul --> Useful Lunar Magic 0.1 Reloc.ips
- If you use "Harder Final Boss", and you want Dark Lich to use Lunar Magic,
then apply Useful Lunar Magic patch AFTER applying Harder Final Boss.
- This is NOT compatible with some of Queue's [Secret of Mana Turbo] choices.
However, Turbo hack has an equivalent spell -- Black Hex (also made by me).
It has the same effect as Useful Lunar Magic hack.
- Turbo hack has its own Lunar Magic hack (called Lunar Magic - Celestial
Cascade). It is great and very unique (ex: one of the random effects causes
the target to drop its treasure chest).
Other Notes:
- I strongly suggest you to check out Queue's [Secret of Mana Turbo] hack
compilation. It has all of my hacks (enhanced versions), as well as a LOT of
others (some of which make the game significantly better). It even fixes most
of the glitches and shortcomings that were present in the original game. And
you can toggle which hacks to use (very user-friendly). It is by FAR the best
SoM hack.
- My hacks in Romhacking.net may be slightly different than the ones in Queue's
Turbo hack. That's because my stand-alone hacks are unable to use lots of
features that were available in the Turbo hack.
