Don’t think this is gonna be a 100% Gold Remake, it’ll have its differences. Extra battles (some’ll be optionals, tough but rewarding), Hoenn Pokemon (in every area, and hard to find) New areas, Remapped some dungeons (so your old guides wont work) , Extra recurring characters (some’ll hate you, some’ll help you)
Note that the hack is incomplete but feel free to enjoy the hack as-is.
+-------------------------------------+ | Super Mario World Color Restoration | +-------------------------------------+ Nov. 7, 2008 - v0.91 Pretty sure I got all the skies now. Included a patch for the European version. Nov. 5, 2008 - v0.9 Initial release. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This patch will restore Super Mario World (Super Mario Advance 2) to the original SNES color palettes. Pretty sure I've missed some things, so there'll be another release down the road. I'm gonna estimate I've got 99% done, but let me know if you find omissions. There's a few extra palettes I didn't touch because I don't know what they go to yet. Be on the lookout for anything that wasn't in the original SNES version, let me know what you find. Almost forgot to mention, the "Super Mario Advance" title screen, "choose a game" screen, and the entire Mario Bros. minigame are not altered (among other things), and possibly won't be. Possibly. Not really that big of a deal right now, I think. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm going to assume you know how to use IPS patches. I'm also going to assume you know how to obtain a ROM to patch. Please don't ask me. U and E patches are included. I could do a patch for the J version if anyone wants, but I can't imagine I'll get too many requests ;) I built it using a clean ROM, but it seems to work okay with an intro. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Special thanks/programs used: HackMew for the wonderful Advanced Palette Editor creaothceann for vSNES Christian Maas's dandy hex editor, XVI32 JASC's ever-useful Paint Shop Pro 3.12 MrClick's TilEd Tenchi's ips XP ZSNES team for their emulator VBA team for VisualBoy Advance and Nintendo, of course ;) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ lordasaki (at) hotmail (dot) com
