Seiken Densetsu 3 / Trials of Mana - Better Starting StatDescription

Don’t think this is gonna be a 100% Gold Remake, it’ll have its differences. Extra battles (some’ll be optionals, tough but rewarding), Hoenn Pokemon (in every area, and hard to find) New areas, Remapped some dungeons (so your old guides wont work) , Extra recurring characters (some’ll hate you, some’ll help you)

Note that the hack is incomplete but feel free to enjoy the hack as-is.

Seiken Densetsu 3 / Trials of Mana -- Better Starting Stat
v1.2

by hmsong
================================================================================

The beginning of the game (Full Metal Hugger ~ Machine Golem) for SD3 was
unusually difficult, not only because of lack of skills, but also because your
starting stats were very low. However, raising the character stat cap ended up
raising the enemy stats, which made the game even more difficult.

So, this patch does the following things:

- Everyone starts with 1 more point in all stats.
- You can only raise VIT, INT, or LCK stat points on Lv3.
- The first stat cap is raised from Lv4 to Lv6 -- this forces you to balance out
the stats in the beginning, but you already start with higher stats, so it
shouldn't negatively affect post-Machine Golem gameplay.
- Some Lv4 enemies and bosses are now Lv3 (but still retains their original Lv4
stats) -- this has a negative side effect that may yield less EXP and LUCRE.
- Lv1, Lv4, and Lv7 enemies have higher stats (and therefore more difficult).

With this, most enemy stats would remain the same as the original (for the most
part), but you'd have higher beginning stats without compromising the later
levels, meaning only the beginning parts of the game would be easier. And you'd
have up to 6 more total points before the first class change (although for less
frequently used stats, since the later level stat caps are still the same).

Applying Notes:

- This is specifically for No Header ROM. If you only have a Headered ROM, then
you can use TUSH (https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/608/) to remove the
  header.
- Compatible with the English NCorlett-translation patch. But again, you need a
Unheadered ROM. If you are using the translation patch from Romhacking.net,
then you need to apply the translation to a Headered ROM first, then use TUSH
to remove the header. And then you can apply my patches.
- Compatible with the new Trials of Mana ROM, released in 2019. But again, you
  need a Unheadered ROM.

Change Logs:

1.2
 - Reverted back the enemies in Golden Road to Lv4 (not the boss though).

1.1
 - Minor correction.

1.0
 - Initial release.

There are other hacks for Seiken Densetsu 3 that you should check out:

Sin of Mana
- http://ngplus.net/index.php?/files/file/28-seiken-densetsu-3-sin-of-mana/
- This changes the contents of the game in many ways, such as stat changes,
equipment changes, class balance, difficulty, boss behaviors, running in
battles, MP regeneration, dungeon format, and tons of bug fixes. It's a
completely new game though, since so much has changed from the original game
  (especially character spells).
- There is also a forum (google "Sin of Mana forum"), where you can ask the
creator (praetarius5018) numerous questions. He is very helpful, and even
helps you to create your own hack. He certainly helped me, for most of my
  hacks.
- Sin of Mana is NOT compatible with the new Trials of Mana.
- Sin of Mana is NOT compatible with hmsong's patches.
