MK1 Text Clean UpDescription

Don’t think this is gonna be a 100% Gold Remake, it’ll have its differences. Extra battles (some’ll be optionals, tough but rewarding), Hoenn Pokemon (in every area, and hard to find) New areas, Remapped some dungeons (so your old guides wont work) , Extra recurring characters (some’ll hate you, some’ll help you)

Note that the hack is incomplete but feel free to enjoy the hack as-is.

MK TEXT CLEAN UP 1.0

This is a simple hack intended to clean up the presentation by
re-aligning the text of some bios and endings, clarifying all of
the options in the DULLARD menu and changing the intro and credits
sequences to resemble the PC and Arcade versions respectively.

This was built from the ground up by editing an un-modified ROM of
Mortal Kombat (W) (Rev00) [!] using HxD.

Hope you enjoy.

LIST OF CHANGES:

* The famous "blood code screen" text has been changed to use the
storyline screen that was exclusive to the PC DOS port of the game.

* The end credits have been changed to more closely resemble the
arcade game's credits sequence.

(Text space was limited in the ROM, so that dictated the special
thanks list was not going to fit in its entirety. I decided to
limit it to only people also thanked in the credits of MKII.)

* DULLARD menu is reworked with flag descriptions different to the
Mega CD & hiro1112 ones. I tried to make each more accurate while
also better fitting within the 5 character limit.

* "Cameo" & "Biography" changed to "Biography" & "Ending".

* Cage's bio is changed from "great masters from around the world."
to "great masters world-wide." in order to create a break between
the two blocks of text, which were awkwardly formatted originally.

* Kano's bio text restores a comma after the word "thug" from the
arcade text and re-aligns "crime and injustice" to its own line.

* Rayden is changed to Raiden. An awkward gap is removed in his
second end screen and the punctuation of "have a nice day" was
changed from an exclamation to a period, as it was in the arcade.

* Liu Kang's first ending screen is changed so that "Shang Tsung"
is all on one line and the text is space more evenly.

*Scorpion and Sub-Zero have the first line of their bios inverted,
so they make more sense in the order they are presented in demo mode.

* Sub-Zero's second ending screen corrects a spelling error.
