Descrizione Final Fantasy V coop controller sharing hack

Don’t think this is gonna be a 100% Gold Remake, it’ll have its differences. Extra battles (some’ll be optionals, tough but rewarding), Hoenn Pokemon (in every area, and hard to find) New areas, Remapped some dungeons (so your old guides wont work) , Extra recurring characters (some’ll hate you, some’ll help you)

Note that the hack is incomplete but feel free to enjoy the hack as-is.

FINAL FANTASY 5 coop controller sharing hack
Version 20130923

1. What it does

This hack allows the players to determine who controls the game outside battles: whoever controls the character in the first slot will have control. This does not affect battles. Changing character order or changing character ownership will immediately swap control accordingly.

That is all this does. The game already has controller sharing for battles and controller choosing for characters.

2. How to patch

Use Lunar IPS to apply the .ips patch. Works with original (CRC32=C1BC267D) and original+RPGe translation.

3. Technical notes

Briefly tested with an emulator. The hack is very simple though.

This hack breaks the single/multi controller setting in the game. It will always behave as multi. This should not matter, as you can always assign all characters to one controller anyway. This results in a fairly high compatibility with other hacks - most hacks should work unless they mess with controller code, swap controller routines to different places or store character order differently.

If the first slot is empty, one of the controllers will still be in charge.. but it has no roleplaying value to move as the other player's character, right?
