Description Final Fantasy - Doubled

Don’t think this is gonna be a 100% Gold Remake, it’ll have its differences. Extra battles (some’ll be optionals, tough but rewarding), Hoenn Pokemon (in every area, and hard to find) New areas, Remapped some dungeons (so your old guides wont work) , Extra recurring characters (some’ll hate you, some’ll help you)

Note that the hack is incomplete but feel free to enjoy the hack as-is.

INTRO
This is a hack of Final Fantasy for the NES which doubles
the experience and gold earned from battles. The hack works
on both the US and Japanese version.

FINAL THOUGHTS
This was one of the first Doubled hacks I made, because I've
played FF1 countless times and wanted to go for this first
(along with Dragon Warrior). Thing is, I only just realised
through checking that my first patch was wrong! The game
stores the experience and gold from the battle on zero page
of RAM, then stores it in SRAM. The game then uses the SRAM
to write on the screen what you got, but for actually adding
to your party's totals, it uses the copy stored on zero
page. My first attempt doubled the SRAM one, which seemed
fine because the end-of-battle screen showed the double -
but going into the menu afterwards, I realised the
experience and gold didn't actually double. It's a good
thing I checked! Now it doubles the value at zero page
instead, and all is well. Enjoy!

Tools I used for this translation:
FCEUX (best NES emulator for debugging and hacking)
HxD (general hex editing)
