Don’t think this is gonna be a 100% Gold Remake, it’ll have its differences. Extra battles (some’ll be optionals, tough but rewarding), Hoenn Pokemon (in every area, and hard to find) New areas, Remapped some dungeons (so your old guides wont work) , Extra recurring characters (some’ll hate you, some’ll help you)
Note that the hack is incomplete but feel free to enjoy the hack as-is.
Super Metroid Y-Faster Plot : A flying brain from another dimension is wrecking the galaxy, Samus has decided to put an end to this. She has less than one hour to complete her task otherwise she'll die from heavy brain damage. Hack type : Quick Play Goal : Defeat 4 main bosses in 4 distinct areas then head to the final area as fast as possible. Each area can be completed in one run and in any order (no need to go back and forth between areas to progress). There's a bit of exploration thrown in for good measure but for the most part, the main path is quite straightforward (I think?) In case you're confused, look at the map - all area maps are available from the start. Backtracking is usually needed when you're exiting an area to go the next one. Most enemies has altered vulnerabilities, health and damage so you should be able to deal with them underequipped. That includes bosses & zebetites weak to uncharged shots, etc. Yet, as a general rule of thumb, bumping into everything (ie enemies, spikes) isn't the best way to progress. List of areas (from easier to hardest) AREA DIFFICULTY SIZE OrangeStar Easy Small (hub area) GoldStar Easy Large DarkStar Medium Small ZariStar High Medium NorthStar High Large FinalStar ??? ??? (ending area) Going for the easiest areas first is safe but it will be slower overall (recommanded for first play) If you go for the harder areas first, you might die (blame yourself) but this give you access to more shortcuts. Finding the fastest route should take a few tries. Best ending time requires sub 00:20 IGT. Skills required : (depends on what area you go first) - walljump - mid-air morph - suitless underwater Physics changes : - walljump speed increased - spring ball speed increased PS: You start with items : Morph, Bombs, Charge and an Energy Tank. PS2: Save stations also work just in case you want a "safety" save. PS3: If you encounter any game-breaking bug, please let me know about it. Patches used : - hud timer by quote58 - morph flash by blackfalcon - door speedup by rakki
